25 April Bridge to Close to Road Traffic on Sunday for the Lisbon Half Marathon

Road travel across the 25 April Bridge will be restricted on Sunday, 8 March, because of the 35th edition of the Lisbon Half Marathon. Throughout the morning, the bridge will be completely closed to vehicles.

Almada City Council says the closure will begin at 08:00, with reopening expected at 12:00. Rail services will not be affected and will continue to run as normal.

Additional closures near the 25 April Bridge

Away from the bridge itself, Pragalense Recreational Union Society Street, in the area of the Pragal Bridge, will also be closed to traffic from 06:30 until 12:00. The local authority advises motorists to plan alternative routes during this period.

The race starts at the toll plaza and finishes by Jeronimos Monastery on the riverside. Running alongside it is the Vodafone 10K event, with around 33,000 athletes from a range of nationalities taking part overall.
