After a lengthy wait, the Mazda 6e is now arriving in Portugal and can already be ordered, with prices starting at 40 050 euros. Deliveries are expected in September.
Mazda’s new 100% electric model also carries a clear Chinese influence, as it has been developed through the brand’s joint venture with Chongqing Changan Automobile. As a result, the Mazda 6e is a close relative of the Deepal SL03.
We have already had the chance to see this model in person. Here is everything Guilherme Costa thought about it:
Mazda 6e: Two powertrains
The Mazda 6e comes with two mechanical versions. Both use lithium-ion batteries, but with different chemistries: LFP (lithium iron phosphate) and NMC (nickel, manganese and cobalt):
- Standard: 1 electric motor with 190 kW (258 cv) and 320 Nm of torque, 68,8 kWh LFP battery, range of up to 479 km (WLTP);
- Long Range: 1 electric motor with 180 kW (245 cv) and 320 Nm of torque, 80 kWh NMC battery, range of up to 552 km (WLTP).
Curiously, the Mazda 6e with the smaller-capacity LFP battery supports more than double the DC rapid-charging power of the 6e fitted with the larger NMC pack: 200 kW versus 95 kW. On AC charging, the maximum power is 11 kW.
Technology-focused interior
Inside the cabin, Mazda equips its new EV with a 10,2” digital instrument display and a head-up display system. In the middle of the dashboard there is also a 14,6” touchscreen.
Among the various features available are dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless smartphone charging pad, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
The Mazda 6e is offered with two trim levels: Takumi (beige or black leatherete upholstery) and Takumi Plus (brown leather and suede upholstery, with leather and synthetic leather finishes). The price difference between these two trims is 1950 euros.
On the safety side, the electric saloon includes nine airbags, a see-through view function that reveals areas hidden by the bodywork, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and other features.
Prices for the full range
As mentioned above, the Mazda 6e 2025 reaches the national market in September, but it is already available to order. Prices are structured as follows:
For the 6e, Mazda is offering a warranty of six years or up to 150 000 km, covering the repair or replacement of parts in the event of defects in materials or workmanship.
In addition, the Mazda 6e includes an eight-year warranty for the high-voltage battery (maximum total mileage of 160 000 km) down to a minimum capacity of 70% of its original capacity.
