Oppo has officially unveiled its foldable smartphone, the Find N6. The company says the device sets a new benchmark for foldables thanks to a redesigned hinge, stronger body protection and an updated camera system. Sales begin on 20 March, with prices starting at 9999 yuan ($1450).

Second-generation Titanium Flexion hinge and screen durability

The key hardware change is the second-generation Titanium Flexion hinge. It is 11% wider, and the display’s fold has been engineered to bend more smoothly when closed, with the aim of reducing panel wear over time.

The inner display is covered by Flex Glass with an auto-smoothing feature. Oppo states that it is 50% thicker, restores its shape twice as well, and is 338% more resistant to deformation than before. According to Oppo, the handset is TÜV Rheinland certified for 600 000 folds.

Body protection: IP56, IP58 and IP59 on Find N6

Another major upgrade is the chassis protection. The Find N6 is rated to IP56, IP58 and IP59, meaning it now offers improved protection not only against water, but also against dust ingress.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 performance and faster charging

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 SoC. Battery capacity has increased from 5600 mAh in the previous model to 6000 mAh. Charging includes 80-watt SuperVOOC wired charging and 50-watt AirVOOC wireless charging.

Brighter displays with Dolby Vision and 10-bit colour

Screen sizes are broadly unchanged, but brightness has been boosted. The outer display is a 6.62-inch panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2616 x 1140 pixels. The inner screen is an 8.12-inch 120 Hz panel with a resolution of 2480 × 2248 pixels. Both displays support 10-bit colour and Dolby Vision.

Peak brightness reaches 3600 cd/m² on the outer screen and 2500 cd/m² on the inner screen.

Updated Hasselblad camera system with True Color sensor

The Hasselblad-branded main camera module has also been refreshed. The primary camera now uses a 200 MP sensor with a 1/1.56-inch optical format (Samsung ISOCELL HP5) paired with a 21 mm equivalent lens.

Oppo has also added a True Color sensor-first introduced in the Find X9 line-to achieve more accurate white balance and more natural colour reproduction.

The telephoto camera keeps the 50 MP ISOCELL JN5 sensor with a 1/2.75-inch optical format, but now features a 70 mm F/2.7 lens.

The ultra-wide camera has been improved too: it is now a 50 MP module using the same JN5 sensor, but with a new 15 mm F/2.0 lens and autofocus.

New 20 MP front-facing cameras are fitted on both displays.

Android 16, ColorOS 16 and long-term updates

Out of the box, the Oppo Find N6 runs Android 16 with the ColorOS 16 interface. The company promises 5 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates.
