The BYD Dolphin only reached our market towards the end of 2023, yet the Chinese manufacturer is already rolling out an updated version, now on sale from 35 990 euros.
This refresh is not quite as soon as it may sound, because the Dolphin was first launched in China back in 2021. Even so, the exterior changes are effectively impossible to spot.
BYD Dolphin line-up: what has changed?
The biggest shift is the reshaped range: the Dolphin is now offered solely in one trim level, called Comfort. This version pairs the more powerful 150 kW (204 hp) motor with the higher-capacity 60,4 kWh battery.
Driving range remains at up to 427 km (WLTP combined cycle), but DC fast-charging power has increased from 88 kW to 110 kW, helping to cut charging times.
Another update concerns boot space, which has grown by 19 litres compared with the previous model, bringing the total to 364 litres.
Inside, there is a new multi-function steering wheel that is heated and finished in vegan material, plus electrically adjustable and heated front seats. You also get a 12,8” rotating display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heat pump, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability and, now as standard, a rain sensor.
When will it arrive?
The refreshed BYD Dolphin is already available in Portugal from 35 990 euros, and it is now consolidated into a single version.
